Spring Warblers

With the majority of birds now hunkered up in hedges and bushes with their young, I thought I'd take a better look at the birds that are now in hiding. Some of our Spring migrants are easy to find when they are singing in leaf less trees, can be almost impossible to spot at this time of year.
I was lucky enough to get some decent shots of a few of them.

Blackcap. Not easy to see at the best of times.

Chiffchaff. I've heard a few of these singing again recently.

  1. I've been hearing Chiffchaff's and Blackcaps just lately. I think it's when the males are looking to start another brood. Strangely I've yet to see a Garden Warbler this year.

  8. Well, you are doing a lot better than I am at this point. All I am seeing are Sparrows, Blackbirds, Bluejays and Robins ... The rest are in hiding as you pointed out. A nice change of pace for me to see your birds ... Thanks, Adam ...

  10. We have a bush black-cap in South Africa. Reasonably similar to your Blackcap. I love the warblers.

  19. All three are so sweet and your pictures are perfect. No twigs or leafs hiding their faces ... And yet they are very " real" pictures, showing how they look in nature.
