The Greylag goose is a pretty common goose and I must say a little uninspiring when you walk past yet another one on your walks. However, at Martin Mere I thought I'd try and make them a little more appealing by taking some more interesting pictures. Flight shots are always good, so that's what I tried to. I had varying success, but it made me look at this goose in a different light (so to speak).
Excellent shots of them landing and taking off. I know they are common but I much prefer them to the Canada geese.
ReplyDeleteI love your shots of the birds in flight! Very good captures!
ReplyDeleteThis brought back fond memories of my neighbors domestic geese that visited the pond and one looked very like these geese. Lovely photos..thank you for the memories...miss the geese, the farm and my neighbor....Michelle from Nature Notes
ReplyDeleteI think the Greylags are beautiful and your wonderful photos showcase that beauty.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots you managed to get of these geese in flight! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteInteresting shots of geese in flight.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - a greylag here would be as rare as a whiskered tern with you - maybe even rarer!

I think they're beautiful....nothing at all like the geese we see here in America.
ReplyDeleteI know and understand what you meant tho, about seeing a very common bird and tend to ignore them as you're walking along....thing is, there is always something special about even the commonly seen birds. I loved how you captured them in a 'different light'.
Thank you for sharing your link at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend!!!
