More common, but not forgotten

My visit to the Wirral was very nice and there are always good birds around, but I never neglect the more common species on show that can often get overlooked. These were seen in a mixture of places such as marsh and coast. Here are just a few of them.

Common Redshank in flight.

Common Snipe.

Carrion Crow

Common Gull.

Coot

Female Teal

  4. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful photos of such a wonderful array of different birds. All are great, I especially like the 'in flight' and the perfect camouflage of the snipe.

  5. The redshanks have a wonderful pattern on their backs and wings! You miss things like that when you see a bird on the ground.

  8. Your more common birds are definitely not all common around the world. I would really like to see a Redshank! and I think the Snipe is not the one we see out here either - but not sure as I seldom see any at all. All great photos.

  10. Beautiful shots, even more so because they are hard to get.

  11. It's when you don't see any common birds that you know a place is in trouble - rarities are nice, but often just lost!
