I had the pleasure of meeting Derek from Northern Ireland in a few of the hides. I had a good time sharing our sightings and knowledge. We spent some time lamenting the lack of movement from a Green Sandpiper some way off in the distance. It only transpired later in the day that he follows my blog. Such a small world. You can find Derek's own blog here: Bangor West
There were quite a few busy parents around feeding their young. Female Mallard here looking after just 3 youngsters. Makes me wonder what happened to the others.
Moorhen scampering about.
There were two very busy Reed Warblers zipping about.
One for Derek. A Stock Dove.
Wonderful variety of birds and photos, Adam! The moorhen is one of my favorite on this post. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteLove the moorhen..What great feet..Nice collection..wonderful photos
ReplyDeleteA great series of photos. I especially like the Mallard looking after the 3 young ones.

Over here I would guess turtles, but there are many likely suspects looking for little ducklings.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, Adam!

I recently spent a rather fruitless hours trying to photograph reed warblers - looks of shots of reeds, but not much warbler! Nice pictures.

ReplyDeleteVery nice shots!
Have a Wonderful Day!
Peace :)
Looks like the Moorhen is practicing his dance moves! Derek adn i are in awlaking group and of course we are always at the front, bird watching as well!
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love doves. Especially the sound of mourning doves.
ReplyDeleteI really like that shot of the Stock Dove Adam. I find that it its a bird which is not well known about or maybe even ignored by birders. I guess to many folk it is just "a pigeon" as it looks so much like many a racing pigeon.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful getting to spend time with someone of like mind! Great post! Love how you captured the colors in the dove's feathers.
ReplyDeleteNice variety and I can relate to your story of meeting blog readers out in the wild. Was talking to someone in a hide last week only for them to start talking about a blog that they'd been reading. Turned out it was mine!
