Robin

Cold and frosty winters morning. What bird epitomises our winter here in the UK more than any other? It's the Robin for me, and there have been plenty about. I have a window feeder on my lounge window and it has been the most frequent visitor, practically taking up residence in it.
There has been plenty of song too, with territory setting going on.

Making the most of some plentiful seed.

Looking nice and plump.

  1. Hi Adam, Robins do remind me of English winters. We used to have "robins" in South Africa. Now they're called Robin-chats. Greetings Jo

  4. What a beautiful robin! We see Robins in the winter here in Florida but most of our country thinks of Robins in the Spring! Enjoy your weekend.

  9. When I lived near Montreal, Quebec, the first robins were such a welcome sign of Spring. Here, in Vancouver, BC, they seem to be staying all year round. I still love to hear their songs. Your photographs are beyond beautiful. Love them!

  11. Beautiful shots of that lovely little fellow. We do get robins but I haven't seen one in years. I am envious.

  12. Obviously I was completely uneducated about British birds...you say the robin epitomizes England, and I only recently found out Britain had robins at all. I thought robins were North American birds. Yours are much prettier than ours...the red/orange colour is SO pretty.

  16. If you asked me, I'd say cardinals. I only see lots of them around the Texas Gulf Coast during the winter.

    Love that beautiful bird!

    Here's my Wordless Wednesday!

  18. I always, always enjoy seeing image shares of your Robins. This little chap is so adorable, so different than our Robins. They look a wee bit smaller as well, but their colours are glorious~
