Fulmar

I only saw a few of these birds on my trip to the North East. I thought that I would see lots on the rocky islands and coast lines, but that wasn't the case. Still, the few that I did see were a real pleasure.
In flight they have a very stiff wing beat, and glide quite a lot. They are tubenosed seabirds and related to the Albatross. A quite unusual looking bird, but one I enjoyed seeing fly above my boat.

  1. Wonderful captures, Adam - I enjoyed this calm on the sky. It must be a pleasure to follow the birds.

  9. I have a friend who lives in the north of England and she recently saw a Fulmar and was so excited about it. I've never seen one myself, I'm not sure if they come to Belgium and we live too far from the coast too so I guess that doesn't help.

    Gorgeous shots!

I'm off to the coast this weekend, so I'll have to keep a look out and see what I can find!
