It's just a Sparrow
Before my Yellow Wagtail turned up I had been watching some Swallows and some juvenile Sparrows. The Sparrows make quite a racket from within their hedges but are a lot less bold when they venture away from its security. So I was happy to have them in front of me feeding, somewhat oblivious to my presence.

Oh those are precious photos. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeletePrecious little birds!
ReplyDeleteThey are such cute little birds. The ones here come in bunches for the seeds I throw out and as soon as a car drives by or something startles them they all take off at once. It's so comical. You got some really great pictures of them here.
ReplyDeletePretty sparrow, great shots.. Thank you for sharing your post with my critter party. Have a happy weekend!

We have few birds here except predatory love seeing this
ReplyDeleteNice to see the sparrows. When we lived in the mountains of New Mexico we never saw one, and here in south Florida they are mostly in the areas of shopping centers and fast food restaurants. Very few people feed the birds here because the Muscovy Ducks take over and spill all the food. Besides the mess they create this also attracts varmints.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of sparrows. Sadly their number is decreasing.
ReplyDeleteAhh, I love the pic where it's sitting on the branch all fluffed up. What a sweet poser.
ReplyDeleteWe have a purple sage bush in our front yard, and sometimes what seems to be hundreds of birds are within its branches making a wonderful racket! :-)
ReplyDeleteIn just everyday birding I find it incredibly difficult to House Sparrows (Tree Sparrows too). I think they are very wary of man with their history of peresection. You made some really good shots Adam.
