These Redshank were sheltering on the rocks at West Kirby. They were getting battered all over the place by the wind coming in off the sea.
This guy didn't see the wave coming.

The wind finally stopped for us Adam. It was very bad for a week or more but nonetheless your pictures of Redshanks are remarkably good considering the wind and Redshanks' propensity for being hard to approach.
