Back with a Bang. Norfolk

Having not done much birding of late, it was nice to go to Norfolk for a few days to really crack on with the year list. I wasn't left disappointed, with over 100 species seen in that time, and quite a number that I had never seen before.
The weather was pretty raw, with snow on the ground for the first day or two, followed by a real gusty wind after that. Still, it made it all the more interesting for me, and meant I got some decent shots.
Over the next few weeks I intend to share these with you. Just for starters though, here are a few taken on the first day when the snow was still down and the temperature was below freezing.

It was nice to see some winter Thrushes, like this Fieldfare.

    Great shots! The Fieldfare does look like a young American Robin.

    I love nature photography too! I am very new to it though and can't wait to upgrade my zoom lens.

    These are all wonderful shots! I enjoyed seeing them very much. There's nothing like being out side in a great place with your camera as far as I am concerned!

    Adam, these photos are super. I especially like the 2nd one from the top, it's as if he's looking at us with purpose...to pose for the camera? Love this.

    I enjoyed seeing the area around Norfolk where you managed to find 100 species in just a few days! Lovely reflections and a quaint bridge brought charm to that slightly chilly snow scene. The Winter Thrush is beautiful. I thought when i saw it, that it resembles our Varied Thrush (that I only get to see once in while in Vancouver).

    What splendid photos of the fieldfare! We have grown soft here in South Florida and just looking at the snow is chilling. Yet we must return to Illinois to help out our daughter with the two granddaughters until she is able to walk.
