The weather was pretty raw, with snow on the ground for the first day or two, followed by a real gusty wind after that. Still, it made it all the more interesting for me, and meant I got some decent shots.
Over the next few weeks I intend to share these with you. Just for starters though, here are a few taken on the first day when the snow was still down and the temperature was below freezing.
The lovely scene that met us on our arrival
It was nice to see some winter Thrushes, like this Fieldfare.
A lovely place, a beautiful bird and terrific captures! Good to see you back!!
ReplyDeleteit looks so much like our american robin (a member of the thrush family)

I enjoyed seeing the area around Norfolk where you managed to find 100 species in just a few days! Lovely reflections and a quaint bridge brought charm to that slightly chilly snow scene. The Winter Thrush is beautiful. I thought when i saw it, that it resembles our Varied Thrush (that I only get to see once in while in Vancouver).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of photos.
ReplyDeleteFieldfares, such lovely birds and your presentation, along with winter scenes, really beautiful~
ReplyDeleteLovely shots, the colours of the snow/grass/bird are beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhat splendid photos of the fieldfare! We have grown soft here in South Florida and just looking at the snow is chilling. Yet we must return to Illinois to help out our daughter with the two granddaughters until she is able to walk.
