I had a day off this week and it also just so happened to be a sunny but cold day. It was a sad day as it was the funeral of a good friend of mine. To take my mind off things I headed over to Redesmere in the morning to see if I could make use of the good sunlight. There was plenty around, both on the water and in the trees. Plenty of gulls, Tufted Duck, and Great Crested Grebe, with the odd Kingfisher and Redwing.

The Tufted Ducks were looking particularly fine in the sun

I am so sorry about the death of your friend, Adam. But I am grateful you could find some time for beauty and peace in the day as well. The photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteGreat birds and beautiful photos. I have been looking for the Brown Creeper here. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend.
Hi Adam. I have never heard of a Tree Creeper. It has a curved beak and not strong looking like woodpeckers have Your tufted duck images are stunning. And your gulls are spectacular too. Have a great weekend JO
ReplyDeleteThose are some nice captures. I love the eyes on the duck! And I've never heard of a tree creeper!

May he rest in peace. I am sure he will remain alive in the memories you both made together.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds that you saw. The tree-creeper is too cute. I had seen a velvet fronted nuthatch last year and found them quite interesting.
I always enjoy your photos. Being at one with nature can be a good antidote for what life throws at us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteA fine outing. Treecreepers are not uncommon but that does not mean they are easy to locate, so chance is a fine thing when it happens.
