A look back to some colder winter mornings, well more of a look forward to what is to come. Some of the better birding mornings are spent when there is a cold frost on the ground. The birds are forced out to feed and take more risks, which allows more opportunities to get shots of them. So as much as I am not looking forward to the cold wet windy weather, I am looking forward to some cold blue sky days, when I can sit in five layers of clothes in a hide and take myself away.

Such a pretty little bird, the blue tit! The last picture looks like our chickadee, but I bet it is a coal tit...not that I’ve ever been lucky enough to see it (or any of the sweet birds here) in real life. But I love learning about them on blogs!

Very similar to some of our birds but much better photos than I ever get Adam..Michelle
ReplyDeleteThose are fantastic pictures Adam and I never thought about what you said about the better picture ops freezing cold weather creates. It would make winter more bearable! (but I still think we'll go to Florida as long as we can -- neither of us do well with the gray damp days that are winter here in this part of the US)
